If you have leftover fireworks from recent holidays stored in your garage or shed, federal safety officials say it's time to check the packaging.
Why it matters: Many Tampa Bay families save unused fireworks for future celebrations. A nationwide recall warns that one popular product could explode unexpectedly before reaching the sky, putting users and nearby spectators at risk of serious burns.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled about 132,440 World Class Fireworks "Skull Strobe" rockets sold nationwide between March 2025 and June 2026.
According to the recall, the rockets can detonate prematurely instead of launching safely into the air.

The recalled fireworks:
- World Class Fireworks "Skull Strobe" rockets
- Black box with a skull graphic
- SKU 1004351 printed near the bottom of the package
- Sold for $12 to $25
No injuries or incidents had been reported when the recall was issued.
