If you have leftover fireworks from recent holidays stored in your garage or shed, federal safety officials say it's time to check the packaging.

**Why it matters:** Many Tampa Bay families save unused fireworks for future celebrations. A nationwide recall warns that one popular product could explode unexpectedly before reaching the sky, putting users and nearby spectators at risk of serious burns.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled about **132,440 World Class Fireworks "Skull Strobe" rockets** sold nationwide between **March 2025 and June 2026**.

According to the recall, the rockets can detonate prematurely instead of launching safely into the air.

### How to identify them

The recalled fireworks:

- World Class Fireworks **"Skull Strobe"** rockets
- Black box with a skull graphic
- SKU **1004351** printed near the bottom of the package
- Sold for **$12 to $25**

No injuries or incidents had been reported when the recall was issued.

### What you should do

Federal officials recommend:

- Stop using the recalled fireworks immediately.
- Return them to the retailer where they were purchased or the nearest Jake's Fireworks location.
- Receive a full refund.

**Bottom line:** Before the next backyard celebration, check any leftover fireworks you may have stored at home. Safety officials say these recalled rockets should not be used because they could explode before leaving the ground.
