A lightning strike ignited a house fire in Spring Hill Friday as powerful thunderstorms produced tens of thousands of lightning strikes across Central Florida.

- Hernando County Fire Rescue responded to a home on Elmore Drive around **3:15 p.m. Friday**.
- Firefighters found smoke coming from the roof and quickly extinguished a fire in the attic.
- Everyone inside the home escaped safely, and no injuries were reported.
